Modular Project: Moore County Schools
Moore County Schools, like many other districts throughout the United States, is in the process of renovating and completely reconstructing older school buildings. Pinehurst Elementary was originally built in the 1940s and needed to be entirely rebuilt to appropriately meet the needs of the current student population.
Rebuilding an entire school building with traditional construction takes at least a year and a half, so Moore County Schools needed a place for the entire elementary school to attend classes during the building construction. The answer was having Vanguard Modular Building Systems create an entire temporary modular building campus on an open field at a local park. The solution was perfect because it was close to the existing elementary school location, and the temporary modular classroom and office buildings could be leased; so once the new building project is completed by the general contractor the relocatable classroom and office buildings can be returned to Vanguard Modular.
The temporary modular elementary school is an interconnected campus of 8 large buildings supplying the school with more than 50,000 square feet for classrooms, offices, a library, a cafeteria, restrooms, and more. The students have everything they need and can learn in a comfortable environment while their new school is under construction. The installation of the buildings took less than three months to complete and provides Pinehurst Elementary students, teachers, and administration with school building space for a year and a half until their new building is ready for occupancy.
